Bihar News: Dead Body Of Young Man Found Floating In Kosi River After Five Days In Khagaria, Family Mourns

The body of the missing youth in Bihar’s Khagaria district has been recovered one kilometer away from the spot on Monday, the fifth day after the incident. In fact, a young man had died by drowning in the Kosi river last Thursday in Rabri Nagar Paura village of Paura Panchayat of Gogri block. As soon as the dead body was found, there was a hue and cry among the family members. The atmosphere became sad due to the sound of crying and wailing at the spot.

The local police administration also reached the spot on the information of the body being found. After this, after doing necessary paperwork, the dead body was sent to Sadar Hospital Khagaria for postmortem. Due to being in water for more than four consecutive days, the dead body had become very swollen and had started to stink.

According to information, Nitish Kumar (22) of Subhash Yadav, a resident of Paura Chakprayagi village, was swept away in a strong current while taking a bath in the Kosi river on Thursday, April 13. After that the SDRF team searched the river for several hours. But he didn’t know anything.

Came home on leave to help father

Nitish Kumar used to study while staying in a hostel in Bhagalpur. He had come home to help his father with the harvest. Being a farmer’s son, he also used to help in domestic work. Father had gone out for some work on Thursday. That’s why Nitish had gone out to graze towards the river with cattle. During this, due to the scorching heat, he started bathing in the Kosi river near the village and got drowned in the strong current.

Dead body found floating in the river on the fifth day

Nitish had drowned on Thursday itself. The SDRF team had searched for several hours, but even after continuously sifting the ashes of the river, nothing could be found about the dead body for four days. Today, on the fifth day on Monday morning at around 9 am, Nitish’s floating body was recovered. As soon as the news of the dead body was received, a crowd of villagers gathered on the spot. Paura’s OP in-charge Rajeev Mandal told that the body has been recovered and sent to Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
